INTRODUCTION

 
In February 2016, US-based Eileen Fisher Inc. (EF), a women’s fashion company, made an official announcement on receiving its B Corporation (B Corp) Certification from B Lab (Refer to Exhibit I for details). With this certification, EF not only became the largest women’s apparel company to be named a B Corp, but also the biggest B Corp company in New York. Eileen Fisher (Eileen), Founder and Chairwoman of EF, had a high social and ecological orientation, and had followed valued sustainable practices since the inception of her business. EF, which had completed over three decades in the apparel business, was known for its simple yet elegant clothes that offered comfort and ease to its customers.
